Educational Qualification : 10TH

Work in field of literacy : I founded Kamalamma Orphan Home in 2000 with a goal to educate and empower orphan and underprivileged. I strongly feel education should be accessible to all irrespective of gender, economy or social status. So far innumerable children received free education and have become economically empowered and many are still pursuing their education.

No of Beneficiaries : 50

Social Impact : KAMALAMMA ORPHAN HOME is a registered Charitable Trust (NGO) based in Hyderabad, Telangana. We started SPHOORTI Childrens Home near North Lalaguda, Hyderabad in 2000 with three children and two caretakers We admit children falling into the following categories: 1) Children who have lost at least one parent 2) Children from poverty-stricken families 3) Children of physically/mentally challenged parents 4) Children of families ravaged by HIV/AIDS We currently have 50 children in the age group of 6 Months-20 years

Fund Outlay : 7500000

The challenge of arranging funds is being met : This academic year around Rs. 75, 00, 000/- has been spent till date. KAMALAMMA ORPHAN HOME has got no government support. We solely depend on donations received from individual donors and Corporate donors who sponsor various programs as part of their CSR activities. I am also utilizing my personal residential buildings at Tukaramgate, North Lalaguda for the purpose of housing and for accommodating the children. In a small way these expenditures are my personal contribution to tide over the total expenditure incurred in running the NGO.

This Award is going to impact the work in future : The award is one of the most prestigious awards in the field of education. This would give our work added credibility, recognition and reaffirms that our decades of work is successfully on the right track. It will fix a new bench mark for our work and will motivate us to reach higher goals in our chosen field of work. All our children will also be inspired to reach their potential and do justice to the faith that so many supporters have kept in them.
