Work in field of literacy : SPID is providing education, nutrition, care and protection of children of women in Prostitution work in red Light area of G.B. road, Delhi since 2009. Currently we have around 65 children at our SMS Center in red light area. SPID provides Non-Formal, Remedial classes to our enrolled children. We have enrolled our children in Govt Municipal Corporation of Delhi school for formal schooling. we are running 24 hour seven days a week center for the children and adolescent girls from brothel. In this center we provide all the facilities including food, shelter,cloths means everything to bring back them in mainstream.

Social Impact : Due to our intervention our girls have done B. Ed., Nursing courses, hotel management courses to build their future. Build confidence among brothel workers and they now believing through this step their children can come in mainstream of the society. Few mothers are coming to our center to drop their child with more confidence.

The challenge of arranging funds is being met : Around Rs 25 lakhs is our annual budget to run the SPID-SMS center in the red light area with the support of Women Child Development, Govt NCT of Delhi and other individual donors. Still the center is running from shortage of funds and even do not have fund to provide higher education to our older girls which is started in December, 2016 at separate place from the red light area in Delhi.
This Award is going to impact the work in future : Certainly the award will be great support for meeting some expenses and great recognition towards our work which being carried out for these vulnerable and disadvantaged children. This will motivate to other funders to come with us to fulfill the necessary need of society. Through this platform people and organization could understand the basic and foremost necessity of these strata of society.
